Project Management Foundations and Methods

This course covers the theoretical and practical foundations of project management that are applicable to projects of all kinds and sizes. Utilizing the Project Management Institute (PMI)® framework of 49 project management processes presented in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®), the course covers the most commonly applied methodologies, tools, and techniques, including those used in traditional predictive (waterfall) and newer agile (adaptive) project life cycles. Throughout the course, learn how these concepts are applied as you work on hypothetical projects, recommend project life cycles, perform stakeholder analysis, develop work breakdown structures, analyze potential risks, and design communication strategies. The course content also may be applied when preparing for the PMI® Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® examination.
