Evan Kaplan
Adjunct InstructorEvan Kaplan is an adjunct professor of solar and renewable energy within the School of Professional Studies. He currently works as a Project Manager at Convergent Energy & Power, a developer and owner/operator of battery energy storage and solar PV projects for the commercial, industrial, and utility sector. Evan is responsible for managing all aspects of a project's lifecycle from initial feasibility, to installation and commissioning. He manages the project schedules, budgets, and all necessary permitting and approval processes. He also provides technical support to Convergent's sales team in identifying and validating new project opportunities.
Evan has over 10 years of experience within the solar industry and has managed over 10 MW of projects across the United States. Prior to joining Convergent, Evan worked as the Director of On-Site Generation Consulting and as a Senior Project Manager within the On-Site Generation division at Bright Power, a provider of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for the real estate industry. Within these roles Evan played a key role in project development, design, and construction project management for rooftop solar, co-generation, battery energy storage, and resiliency projects on both new construction and existing buildings in the New York City area. Evan also worked at Solaire Generation, a designer and installer of commercial scale solar carports.
Evan holds a B.S.E from The University of Michigan with a degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and previously worked in the yacht and commercial vessel design industry.
