Megan Paolone has a master’s in Magazine, Newspaper, and Online Journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and a dual bachelor’s in History and Spanish from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She is the copy chief of BuzzFeed News, where she manages a team of editors in London, New York, and Los Angeles to edit content for the site and its platforms. As BuzzFeed's second full-time copy editor, Paolone helped create and publish the BuzzFeed Style Guide. Before BuzzFeed, she worked as a research assistant for the ombudsman of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and wrote for Syracuse.com. Paolone teaches Video Copyediting in the copyediting diploma program at NYUSPS in the Center for Applied Liberal Arts.

This course provides a hands-on look at copyediting for video, including script editing, fact-checking reported video content, and closed captioning.
