John Hannum

John Hannum

Adjunct Instructor

Mr. Hannum is a Mechanical Engineer with 18 years of experience in programming, design, construction, inspection and post occupancy evaluation of mechanical and building envelope systems in buildings. Mr. Hannum has extensive experience in commercial and residential new construction and renovation with an emphasis on building science, systems integration, and efficiency. Prior to developing his private practice (JHEC, PC), Mr. Hannum was a Principal Engineer at Vidaris / LPI, Inc. in NYC where he developed their Energy and Building Sciences Group and ultimately headed the Commissioning and Inspections Group. He was the LPI, Inc. Director of Special Inspections, and served on the NYC Mechanical Code Committee. 

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Hannum is employed by Princeton University as their MEP Project Engineer where he acts as the technical representative for Design and Commissioning of Envelope, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, and Information Technology systems for all new construction and renovations on campus.

Continue with building systems, including constant and variable volume, refrigeration cycle, chillers, condensers, pipe sizing, pumps, and boilers.
