Derek Gardella

Derek Gardella has been an Adjunct Professor at Schack for the past 10 years. His coursework has comprised corporate teaching engagements as well as non-credit classes across the following subjects:  Real Estate Investment Analysis, Real Estate Private Equity, Real Estate Due Diligence, and Real Estate Financial Analysis.

Derek has worked at The Hampshire Companies since 2011. He is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and serves as Portfolio Manager for the Sponsor of United Hampshire US Real Estate Investment Trust, a REIT that is publicly-traded on the Singapore stock exchange. Throughout his career at Hampshire, Derek has served as Portfolio Manager overseeing Core-Plus and Value-Add closed-end Institutional real estate funds. He also served as Director of Acquisitions and Financing where he led a team of transaction professionals in structuring, negotiating, underwriting, and closing acquisitions and financings for value-add and core-plus investments. Prior to joining Hampshire, Derek held roles in real estate acquisitions, financing, and investment banking at JPMorgan.
