Character-Driven Film and TV Script Boot Camp

Sick of superhero movies? Tired of Hollywood franchises filled with two-dimensional characters? Frustrated by the lack of originality as evidenced by all the “reboots” (in both movies and television)? If so, then this Boot Camp is for you. In this one-week intensive, have fun learning the basics of dramatic writing for movies and TV, with an emphasis on character-driven stories that are generally found in independent cinema and television. Learn plot, theme, dialogue, and proper format. Explore how structure is generated by a character. Write pages in class under the close supervision of the instructor, who will act as your personal writing trainer. The goal of the course is a completed script outline and about the first 30 pages of your script. The only prerequisites are a love for movies and/or TV and a desire to tell a story for the screen.
