Human Resource Information Systems

During this course, gain an appreciation of the important contribution that information technology makes to the success of organizations and an understanding of its role in helping the HR function and the organization achieve a competitive advantage. In this course, the organization is examined as a system, and the roles of information and technology are reviewed to facilitate the specification, development, implementation, and maintenance of information technology for supporting employee information decision-making and strategic planning. Topics include the role of employee information within organizations; an overview of popular hardware and software platforms; systems development architectures; and planning, developing, and managing IT systems.
