This course offer HR professionals a practical introduction to the principles and processes that drive effective employee learning and development. Students will explore the strategic role of the Learning & Development function and how L&D teams collaborate with HR and organizational leaders to identify performance gaps and deliver targeted, engaging training. From there, students will examine a structured project management approach for assessing learning needs and designing training programs that are relevant, measurable, and aligned with organizational goals. The course also introduces the foundational principles of adult learning theory, with a focus on how employees in the workplace process and retain new information. Students will develop the knowledge and frameworks needed to design training that is instructionally sound and behavior-changing, whether that training will be synchronous or asynchronous, formal or informal.
