Edmund Cionek
Adjunct Assistant ProfessorDr. Edmund Cionek, composer, writes and arranges music for the concert hall and the theatre. A student of William Bolcom, he received a DMA in Music Composition from the University of Michigan. He also studied at the Ecole Normale in Paris with Schoenberg disciple, Max Deutsch. He has served on the Board of Directors of the League of Composers-ISCM, NY Art Ensemble, and currently the Bar Harbor Music Festival where he is Composer-in-Residence. Marks Music Company and EDITIONS Amsterdam publish his music which is performed frequently throughout the US. He recently served as National Music Composition Advisor for the College Music Society. At NYUSPS he has taught Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven, Great Choral Music, and Maurice Ravel.
