
Edmund Cionek
Adjunct Assistant ProfessorDr. Edmund Cionek is a composer who writes and arranges music for the concert hall and the theatre. A student of William Bolcom, he received a DMA in Music Composition from the University of Michigan. He also studied at the Ecole Normale in Paris with Schoenberg disciple Max Deutsch. He has served on the Board of Directors of the League of Composers-ISCM as well as the NY Art Ensemble and was Composer-in-Residence for 25 years at the Bar Harbor Music Festival. Published by Marks Music Company, EDITIONS Amsterdam, and others, his work has received awards such as the Silver Medal in the International Recording Excellence Competition (for Stolen Moments in Green and Blue) and is performed frequently throughout the U.S. Teacher of the Year at SUNY-Purchase College, he teaches at NYU SPS and arranges and orchestrates music on demand.
