Online Cantonese, Traditional Language Proficiency Exam (12-Point)

NOTE: Online language proficiency exams are offered year-round. Once you register to take an exam, you will be able to schedule the exam on a date that is convenient for you, even if the exam date will be before or after the semester dates listed below in the section details.
 
This exam assesses reading, writing, listening and oral proficiency in Traditional Cantonese. It consists of multiple-choice questions, short answers, one essay in Traditional Cantonese, one translation into Traditional Cantonese, two short audio sections in Traditional Cantonese, and two oral responses in Traditional Cantonese. Knowledge of technical or specialized vocabulary is not needed. No dictionaries, reference tools, or other support materials are permitted. This exam is available exclusively online, and you will have two hours in which to complete it. Point scoring is equivalent to undergraduate credits at US colleges; credit granted is at the discretion of the institution receiving the results. You are strongly urged to discuss accreditation with the institution’s adviser prior to taking the exam.
