What do David Rose, Arabella Essiedu, Katniss Everdeen, Michonne, and Michael Corleone all have in common? They are all great characters. Whether you are a screenwriter or television writer, the ability to create compelling, unforgettable characters is key. Ultimately, it is the recognizable yet surprising and unique character that draws in script readers, producers and audience members. Through a combination of in-class exercises, lectures, television/movie watching, and writing assignments, learn how to create detailed, compelling characters.
