In this practical guide to maneuvering through the freelance copyediting world, hone both your copyediting skills and your professionalism. Receive expert advice on how to get hired at a magazine, book publisher, or website, and learn the tricky ins and outs to becoming an exemplary freelance copy editor. Topics include editing tests and how to take them successfully; résumé resourcefulness, interviewing skills, and job interview follow-up; workplace etiquette and communications techniques; walking the tightrope between copyediting and content editing; the pluses and minuses of social media; and networking by using your contacts to the fullest. Receive constructive feedback on interactive assignments and role-playing situations that will help you to launch your copyediting career. This course may be used to fulfill the requirements of the Certificate in Professional Copyediting, Proofreading, and Fact-Checking
