DAUS Senior Receives Alpha Sigma Lambda Dean’s Award

DAUS senior Aleksandra Artyfikiewicz has received the Alpha Sigma Lambda Dean’s Award. This annual award is presented to a graduating senior who demonstrates scholarly growth, culminating in academic excellence. This May, Aleksandra will graduate with a BA in social sciences with a concentration in economics from NYU SPS.

For two years, she was a part of the Undergraduate Student Council at SPS, first as treasurer and then as vice president. Together with a group of students and advisers, she served the SPS community and organized social, cultural, and professional events. The Council created new traditions like monthly birthday parties and Instagram takeovers. “This experience,” Aleksandra asserts, “taught me how to be a good leader and provided me with a new family.”

After graduation, Aleksandra will begin work at a market research startup, where she looks forward to utilizing the quantitative and qualitative analysis skills she developed in her undergraduate coursework. In the future, she plans to complete a master’s degree.

“During my time at SPS, I have met many excellent people who would become some of my best friends. My professors inspired me to always dig deeper and enthused me with their passion. I appreciated that they always related the material we studied to the real world. DAUS is an exciting place for any student with an interest the social sciences as you get to explore perspectives of like-minded people from all over the world.”

Congratulations to Aleksandra and to the class of 2020! #NYUSPS2020
