NEW YORK, August 6, 2020 – Beverly Tarulli, PhD, who previously served as vice president, human capital strategy and workforce analytics for PepsiCo, has joined the NYU School of Professional Studies within its Division of Programs in Business (DPB), effective August 1, 2020. Tarulli has been appointed clinical assistant professor and lead faculty for DPB’s Human Capital Analytics & Technology (HCAT) program.

"We are delighted to welcome Beverly Tarulli to the NYU School of Professional Studies in this critical time as our world returns to work, reskills, and reimagines the future workplace and the practice of human capital management," said Martin Ihrig, PhD, DPB’s associate dean. Tarulli has more than 30 years of industry experience as both an internal HR professional and as a human capital expert providing service to clients. Most recently, she served as vice president for human capital strategy and workforce analytics at PepsiCo. In that role, she was responsible for leveraging data in developing PepsiCo’s human capital strategy to ensure the right approach to attracting, retaining, and developing talent to support business growth. She also led the workforce analytics function, which applies advanced analytics to drive human resources solutions that maximize business impact. Prior to PepsiCo, she developed business and led projects at Fortune 50 clients with Accenture and held multiple internal HR research and development roles at BellSouth (now AT&T).

"Beverly has had a decisive impact at PepsiCo and in her other professional positions, among them, advancing diversity initiatives," said Anna Tavis, clinical associate professor and academic director of DPB’s Human Capital Management. "As our students prepare themselves to help companies and organizations face the workplace challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, they are going to benefit tremendously from learning about Beverly’s innovative approaches and her real-world experiences in helping to lead global workforces."

As an industrial/organizational psychologist, Tarulli has relied upon an evidence-based approach to human capital throughout her career. Her professional interests have focused on the retention, engagement, and progression of women at work and awareness-building and support of STEM practices in Human Capital Management. She created PepsiCo’s women and people of color strategies and co-founded and co-led PepsiCo’s STEM Council. Tarulli has served in advisory capacities with the Business Higher Education Forum and the American Council on Education Global Alliance for Innovation in Tertiary Education.

Tarulli earned her MA and PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The University of Akron and her BA from Franklin & Marshall College.
