Division of Programs in Business Hosts Fall 2020 Kickoff for Faculty and Staff

The NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business (DPB) hosted its Fall 2020 Kickoff for faculty and staff on Thursday, August 27th, 2020. The evening began with a welcome and opening remarks from SPS Dean Susan Greenbaum and DPB Dean, Dr. Martin Ihrig. Dean Greenbaum shared her excitement to forge ahead during this unprecedented semester and set the example as a university for institutions around the world. Dean Ihrig reflected on the division’s mission to prepare students with the critical skills necessary to lead in an increasingly digital age. He also thanked faculty and staff for their continued excellence and commitment and celebrated Edward Kleinert, Clinical Associate Professor, and Dr. Negar Farakish, Assistant Dean, for their recent promotions.

Dean Ihrig then introduced the newest member of the division’s leadership team, Dr. Shoshana Bass, who will serve as the Academic Director of Management & Technology. He also welcomed the newest clinical faculty members Dr. Milos Bujisic, Dr. Andres Fortino, Dr. Jennifer Scott, and Dr. Beverly Tarulli. Following their remarks, each of the division’s three Academic Directors—Dr. Bass, Michael Diamond, and Dr. Anna Tavis—shared their departmental strategy and vision for the upcoming semester.

The event continued with updates from Assistant Dean Farakish on student feedback, reopening plans for Fall, and faculty success. She introduced Dr. Hui Soo Chae, Executive Director of the Center for Academic Excellence and Support (CAES) at SPS. Dr. Chae shared a few words on collaboration between CAES and DPB, and the evening concluded with audience Q&A and closing remarks from Dean Ihrig.
