Program FAQs

An associate degree from NYU SPS gives you an affordable way to earn your first college credential in one of several broad fields. Learn from expert faculty in the foundational courses you will need for your career while completing real-world projects, analyzing case studies, and building your professional network. You’ll have your own professional adviser and a range of other support services to keep you on track to graduate.

When you graduate, you will be halfway to completing an NYU SPS DAUS bachelor’s degree and will have a credential you can put to work right away in the labor market. You can continue automatically with no reapplication into your choice of NYU DAUS bachelor’s degrees.

You must start in the spring term (January) of an academic year and be eligible for the Federal Pell grant or New York State TAP. NYU SPS will make up the difference between tuition and your federal and state aid so you have no out-of-pocket tuition cost.

DAUS bachelor’s tuition is lower than other NYU bachelor’s degrees. With only two years to go, your remaining Pell and New York State TAP awards, plus any DAUS aid you may receive, make this the most affordable NYU bachelor’s degree.

For details, see the DAUS bachelor’s degree of your choice.

If you have transfer credits from another university, you may start your associate degree in the fall or summer term, but NYU SPS can not guarantee  that any NYU  financial aid offer will fully cover any remaining tuition costs after applicable government aid sources.

While a DAUS bachelor’s degree is designed to be a high-value pathway to a degree that will advance your career ambitions, NYU SPS does not guarantee that any NYU  financial aid you qualify for will be enough to reduce tuition to $0. To learn more about tuition for a DAUS bachelor’s degree, visit the specific degree page you are interested in or go to the NYU Bursar site.

No, you are not obligated to repay any tuition benefits you received during the associate degree program if you do not continue or complete a DAUS bachelor’s degree.

If you have filed a FAFSA application and are either Pell or TAP eligible and are pursuing an Associate degree, you may qualify for our fully funded tuition award.
