Meet the Leaders Who Will Guide Your NYU SPS Journey
A Message from Dean Kamath
December 2025
Dear NYU SPS Community,
As we close out the fall semester, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our December graduates. Your determination, creativity, and perseverance have helped shape this community, and we are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished!
This is also a moment to reflect on the impact our school has made in 2025. Across classrooms, workplaces, and communities around the world, SPS faculty, staff, students, and alumni continue to exemplify how our professional excellence is grounded in purpose, curiosity, and service.
This semester brought several milestones that speak to that momentum. We announced a new partnership between the AHLA Foundation and the Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality that will allow participants in the DOL-Registered Apprenticeship Program to earn credit toward an AAS in Hospitality Management, expanding access and strengthening pathways into the field.
We also celebrated the 20th anniversary of our Public Relations and Corporate Communication program and launched a new career development scholarship honoring its founder, John T. Doorley, Jr.
Moments like these make me especially proud of the SPS community, and of the remarkable alumni who continue to show what an SPS education makes possible. I’m excited to share that SPS alumna Morgan Coolbaugh (Tisch Institute ‘25) was featured in the NYU Alumni at Work series for her inspiring journey from SPS classrooms to a dream role with the Golden State Warriors—a testament to the power of preparation, mentorship, and persistence.
With winter recess around the corner, I encourage all of you to be intentional about rest, wellness, and leaning on the resources available to you during finals.
December also marks the opening of nominations for the University Distinguished Teaching Award, with University Distinguished Administrator Award nominations also opening on December 15. These honors are a meaningful opportunity to recognize colleagues who elevate our community through their leadership, service, and dedication.
Looking ahead, we have much to be excited about in the spring: Real World courses, global study opportunities, expanded partnerships, and fresh avenues for experiential learning across our divisions. I hope you return from the break recharged and ready for all that 2026 will bring.
Wishing you a joyful season of celebration and connection.
Warmly,
Angie Kamath
