Real Estate and Construction Certificate in Mortgage Finance and Underwriting

Diploma Description

The Certificate in Mortgage Finance and Underwriting is being offered by the Schack Institute of Real Estate. Mortgage financing is a key component of most commercial real estate transactions. Students who complete this certificate will gain an understanding of the concepts and tools used by lenders and analysts when underwriting deals, thus better preparing them for careers in the field. The coursework is geared toward individuals with existing experience in real estate finance and investment.

For those students with limited experience in real estate finance and investment, it is recommended to take REFI1-CE9351: Real Estate Financial Analysis as a prerequisite before declaring candidacy and enrolling for this certificate.

This certificate is awarded to those who successfully complete the three required courses and two electives. Students may complete the certificate by taking all five courses in one semester.  Students must complete all courses within two years.
