Dr. Ankur Agrawal holds a PhD in Computer Science and is a computer scientist and educator with extensive experience teaching programming concepts, data structures and algorithms, databases, data mining, and data science and machine learning. His teaching emphasizes strong theoretical foundations alongside practical, real-world applications, with a focus on preparing students for data-driven and computing-intensive careers.
Dr. Agrawal’s research interests are in medical informatics, data science, and machine learning, with particular emphasis on data quality, semantic analysis, and large-scale biomedical information systems. He is an ABET Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) commissioner and team chair, with extensive experience in computer science accreditation, program assessment, and curriculum development. He has held faculty and academic leadership roles at multiple institutions, including serving as Chair of Computer Science, and is deeply engaged in advancing high-quality, outcomes-driven computing education.
