Dr. Daniel G. Kelly II was appointed the Associate Dean and Clinical Professor at the Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport at New York University’s School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) as of February 2025. Previously, Dr. Kelly served at the Tisch Institute as the Academic Director of Graduate Programs and Clinical Professor since August 2019.
Dr. Kelly was formerly the Faculty Director and Associate Professor of the Practice for the Sports Industry Management Program at Georgetown University (DC). Additionally, Daniel was the Associate Professor and Director of Sport Management at Wilmington College (Oh). Before that, he taught at DeSales University (PA). Daniel holds a Ph.D. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, an M.S. in Sport Studies, and a B.S. in Business Management from the Richard T. Farmer School of Business at Miami University in Oxford,Ohio.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Kelly has consulted on strategic leadership and global business initiatives with FC Barcelona’s Barca Innovation Hub (Spain), River Plate University Institute (Argentina), and Superliga (Argentina). Also, Daniel served as the academic lead for the Josoor Institute’s (Qatar) Football and Sport Management diploma program in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. A 20-year veteran of the global sports industry, Dr. Kelly has provided expert analysis on critical issues impacting society for news agencies such as Yahoo Finance, China Global Television Network (CGTN), and NewsNation, to name a few. Further, Daniel has organized Executive Education and Custom Programming for emerging leaders at the National Football League (NFL).
