Junmian Sun is an adjunct faculty member at New York University. She has been teaching Operations Strategy and Capstone courses in the Master of Science in Integrated Marketing program since 2014.
Currently, Junmian is the Managing Director of the Shorty Awards, an international competition that honors the most innovative work in digital and social media by brands, agencies and organizations. Prior to that, she was the Director of Strategic Events at dentsu Americas, an integrated global network of marketing and communications agencies, including 360i, Carat, iProspect, dentsu X, dentsu mcgarrybowen, Isobar and Merkle.
Junmian started her career in business and marketing at MediaPost, a leading publisher and event company in the media, advertising and marketing industry. Her role evolved from Systems Architect to Director of Operations and Director of Event Brands, creating processes and systems that have significantly scaled MediaPost’s events business. She also served as Group Conference Director, Creative and Technology, at Emerald X, one of the largest B2B trade show and conference operators in North America. Junmian holds a Master’s Degree in Graphic Communications Management from NYU and a BSc. in Computer Science from China. She also studied M.A. in Creativity and Innovation at the University of Malta.
