John has more than 35 years of hospitality experience in hotel operations and asset management. John is actively involved in the management of multiple complex assets, both independent and branded, as well as large convention center hotels in multiple cities, and utilizes his expertise to develop and execute asst management plans that unlock real estate value. As an operations manager, John oversaw the Property Operations department for the Sheraton New York Complex of 2,400 rooms located in three buildings in mid-town Manhattan.
Prior to joining hotelAVE, John was Senior Vice President of Asset Management for GB Lodging where he was responsible for the asset management execution of a portfolio of lifestyle and boutique hotels. Before joining GB Lodging, John was First Vice President with Tishman Hotel Corporation overseeing their New York City hotel Assets. John spent 17 years in hotel operations managing a diversity of full-service hotels ranging in size from 150 rooms to 2,400 rooms.
John holds a Master of Science in Hospitality Industry Studies from New York University and obtained his Bachalor of Sciene in Hotel & Restaurabt Management from the Conrad Hilton School at the University of Houston. He has been an adjunct professor for NYU since 2010 and has taught graduate and undergraduate classes in Hotel Operations Analysis, Strategy Formulation and Decision Making, Hotel Management Fundamentals, and Hotel Asset Management. He is a member of both the Hotel Asset Managers Association (HAMA) and the Conrad Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management Alumni Society and is the past president of NYU Tisch Center Alumni Society.
