Christopher Gulotta has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Schack Institute of Real Estate since 2023. Prior to joining the full-time faculty at Schack, Christopher founded The Gulotta Grabiner Law Group, PLLC, and Real Estate Data Shield, Inc. From 2018 to 2023, he served as an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University’s Graduate Real Estate Institute.

Mr. Gulotta holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) designation, having successfully completed the International Association of Privacy Professionals' course and certification examination. In addition to teaching real estate law courses at Schack (both graduate and undergraduate), Christopher developed a groundbreaking course: Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and Real Estate, which is believed to be the first of its kind in a graduate real estate program.

Since 2012, Mr. Gulotta has been a thought leader in privacy, information security, and cybersecurity. He has received two eLearning awards and developed the first real estate-specific cybersecurity employee training course.

A graduate of Fordham University (CLC, ’82, Cum Laude) and Fordham Law School (‘88), Mr. Gulotta has served as a Continuing Legal Education faculty member at Fordham Law School, Pace Law School, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the New York State Bar Association. He has been a featured columnist and published articles in numerous publications, including The New York Law Journal, The National Law Journal, The Title Report, The Legal Description, Valuation Review, and TitleNews. His writing covers topics such as cybersecurity and real estate transactions, CFPB Service Provider compliance, OCC Lender Oversight, FTC and NYSDFS Cybersecurity compliance for title and settlement agents, Privacy Law, title escrow funds, and RESPA reform.

Mr. Gulotta has represented institutional lenders and individual clients in both commercial and residential real estate transactions for over 35 years. He has also served on ALTA’s Best Practices Task Force, working alongside industry leaders to develop timely, prospective regulatory solutions for title and settlement agents. He is a frequent speaker at real estate industry conferences and at leading law schools, including Berkeley Law School.
