At NYU’s Tisch Center of Hospitality, Ed Salvato teaches various courses in tourism and hospitality. He launched a groundbreaking special topics course on inclusive welcome in tourism and hospitality, underscoring his commitment to fostering a truly inclusive travel environment for all travelers.
His consultancy work has been instrumental in guiding destinations, hospitality organizations, conference organizers and other travel brands to genuinely connect with diverse travelers, especially those who identify as LGBTQ. As a sought-after speaker, Ed shares his insights at global conferences, and his authorship of the Handbook of LGBT Tourism & Hospitality has become a cornerstone in the field and is used in higher education around the world. He orchestrates PROUD Experiences' stage programming, an annual B2B luxury travel conference taking place every June in various world capitals and produces the LGBTQ Pavilions at the Travel & Adventure Show in New York City and Washington, DC.
With over two decades of experience, Ed Salvato stands at the forefront of LGBTQ travel expertise. His journey began with chronicling LGBTQ travel through Out & About gay travel newsletter, leading him to the helm of OUT Traveler, an LGBT travel magazine, as editor in chief. He launched ManAboutWorld, the first LGBTQ app-based travel magazine, as a founding partner and editor.
