This course emphasizes and applies the processes of scientific thinking to theories that influence learning and memory. Students will explore the most recent advancements associated with learning, decision making, motivation, health and well-being, and technology. The main approach for understanding these advancements will be placed on the workings of the brain and mind, and specific topics of these advancements will incorporate the deciphering and discussing of scientific research and applying the findings of these works through student self-reflection, discussion and critical thinking exercises. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have a better foundation of learning, self-regulation, metacognition and application of critical thinking in problem-solving and decision making processes.
