Foundations of Health and Well-being Coaching

The Foundations of Health and Well-being Coaching course provides learners with knowledge of the fundamental principles and practical applications of health and well-being coaching. Grounded in an evidence-based, whole-person framework, the course explores the role of coaching in supporting individualized health and well-being. Learners develop foundational coaching skills, tools, and strategies, design and implement coaching agreements that foster client-centered relationships, and gain the knowledge and ability to effectively structure individual coaching sessions.
Through a rigorous academic curriculum that integrates conceptual knowledge with applied practice, the course provides comprehensive coaching education through live instruction, small-class engagement, coaching practice, and individualized mentorship, preparing learners for ethical and skillful coaching practice.
Certificate in Health and Well-being Coaching at NYU School of Professional Studies is an Approved Health and Wellness Coach Training & Education Program by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the HWC Certifying Examination to become National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
