The wisdom of age provides a plethora of article, essay, and book ideas. Whether you are writing your life story, exploring a lifelong passion, or expanding your writing skills, this eight-week online course offers strategies, tips, and tricks on how to relaunch your creativity, develop your craft, and mine your personal life for ideas. You will learn how to write in a way that will get you and your story noticed, help you get an editor or agent's attention, and find out who those gatekeepers are. Other important items to be covered are how to pitch and break into online and print publications, create a compelling story arc, locate research and interview experts for your article or book, and build your social media platform. Lastly, you will also gain insight and advice from editors and agents who deal with the midlife and beyond market. Whether you are a lifelong journaling aficionado, blogger, or just want to develop new skills, you will leave this class with one ready-to-publish personal essay, the first few pages of your memoir, or a hybrid/reported piece.
