Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction

This course will examine the economic challenges developing countries face and explore strategies to deal with them. 
The course will begin with an analysis of the ways in which the global trading system and the international financial system operate, with particular attention to the roles of the United Nations, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, transnational corporations and governments of both developed and developing countries. It will also consider the Sustainable Development Goals and how countries are progressing towards or struggling to meet their economic growth and poverty reduction goals.
