Building Fluency and Accuracy Through Acting Techniques

In this course for internationals, students improve their spoken English through improv, or improvisational acting. Improvisation means making things happen spontaneously, without extensive planning—a practice that boosts creativity, confidence, fluency, and presentation skills. By reducing fear of public speaking and everyday communication challenges, improv helps students to become more effective in workplace conversations and unexpected situations. In class, monologues, exercises, and scenarios are drawn from students’ real-life experiences. Pronunciation, active vocabulary, listening skills, and humor also are addressed in a supportive and collaborative environment.
