Professional Writing: Content, Purpose, and Audience
This foundational course introduces critical practices of professional writing, focusing on common professional documents across digital and traditional formats. Develop writing and editing skills, as well as the language to discuss writing and to advocate for strategic revisions. Explore style and rhetorical grammar, while evaluating corporate style guides and copyright responsibility issues. This course is part of the
Certificate in Professional Writing
and the Certificate in Executive Business English and Global Communication. It may be taken to pursue the certificates, or as a standalone course.

This course is delivered in an online, self-paced (asynchronous) format. The instructor interacts with students and facilitates group discussions within NYU’s online learning platform. There are weekly deadlines for lesson and assignment completion.
