Mark Degasperi
Adjunct InstructorMark DeGasperi has been a writer, lecturer and professional story analyst in New York for many years. He has read and scouted screenplays, stage plays and books for film and TV adaptation, currently for Sony Pictures Entertainment, Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Productions, LBI Entertainment, Centropolis Entertainment and the Johnson Production Group. He has also covered potential movie and TV material as well for Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, New Line Cinema, the William Morris Agency (WME), International Creative Management (ICM Partners), and past companies like Miramax Films, Jonathan Demme's Clinica Estetico and Stanley Jaffe's Jaffilms. He has covered books for publication for literary agencies McIntosh & Otis and Brandt & Hochman.
He teaches Advanced Film and Television Writing at New York University-SPS. He has received an NYU Award for Service. He has taught the Master Class in Screenwriting, the thesis class for senior undergraduates, at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He has lectured at Baruch College, the New York Institute of Technology, and the HudsonValley Writers Center. He is Associate Producer on the award-winning eco-documentary Saving the Stolen River. He was manager of the Nat Horne Theatre on what, in the 1990s, was 42nd Street's Theatre Row in New York, a not-for-profit performance school founded by Nat Horne, choreographer with the Alvin Ailey Company. Earlier, he was manager of the Ernie Martin Studio Theatre for acting instructor Ernie Martin, a protege of Lee Strasberg. He is the author of The Lazarus Experiment (Double Dragon Publishing/Fiction4All - 2020).
