
Joseph Silver
Adjunct InstructorJoe is Senior Product Manager at NineDot Energy. In this role, Joe focuses on the development of NineDot’s EV charging strategy, which includes scaling up their vehicle-to-grid business and deploying charging at existing and future sites. Prior to joining NineDot, Joe was a Sr. Specialist of Non-Pipeline Solutions at Con Edison where he worked on designing and launching programs targeting the elimination of leak-prone gas mains via whole building electrification. He was Director of Programs at the Urban Future Lab at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering where he supported early stage cleantech startups through business development support, access to investment capital, and direct mentorship. He helped launch the region's first hydrogen technology accelerator in partnership with Greentown Labs and Fraunhofer Institute. Joe also worked at the CUNY Building Performance Lab where he researched and managed innovative demonstrations of new energy technologies in municipal buildings. He is an Adjunct Faculty for the Certificate in Clean Energy offered by the NYU School of Professional Studies, a volunteer advisor for high school sustainability curriculum at the non-profit Working in Support of Education, and a Mentorship Director for the YPE NYC Mentorship program supporting NYC-based college students seeking a career in clean energy. He was a 2021 fellow of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute and holds a BA in Environmental Science from New York University and an MS in Urban Sustainability from the City College of New York.
