Susan Brockman

Susan Brockman

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Susan Brockman has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Classics from the CUNY Graduate School. She has taught classical literature and “Great Books” courses at many area colleges since 1985. For 19 years, she ran a four-year Latin program at Stuyvesant High School as a solo teacher. Since retiring from high school teaching, she has been developing courses on Homer, Dante, Vergil, and other Classical authors, mainly for adults. These include thematic courses which start in the ancient world but then follow threads through later periods and cultures. She's happy to say at this point that she’s taught “many things to many people.” She hopes to enlighten and entertain, and welcomes moments of humor and awe whenever they happen.
