
Cathryn Garrard
Adjunct InstructorCathy Garrard received her BA from the University of Kansas. She is a magazine journalist with more than 20 years of fact-checking, writing, and editing experience. Garrard served as the research director of Redbook andWoman’s Day magazines. She has fact-checked for This Old House, SELF, and Food & Wine. Garrard has also written and reported hundreds of articles on health, nutrition, travel, wine, parenting, and entertainment for dozens of national outlets, both print and digital. She currently is a senior editor at Hearst Magazines, creating special interest publications and bookazines for the Prevention, Good Housekeeping, Woman’s Day, Men’s Health, and Seventeen brands. Garrard teaches the Fact-Checking for Accuracy at NYUSPS in the Center for Applied Liberal Arts.
