Inside Baseball: Analytics in Action

Are you a sports enthusiast who is passionate about analytics? Do you love baseball and want the proper foundation to understand player evaluation and player projection? Are you interested in what strategies or systems analysts use to arrive at certain conclusions? This course will cover the progression of analysis in baseball, from run estimation to projection to pitch tracking, and it will explore the evolution of baseball analysis, from the box score to Statcast. As a course participant, you will receive a detailed road map of how teams operate today, while examining the questions that teams are seeking to answer and learning about the tools and methods they are using to do so. Invited guests will include members of the sabermetrics media and industry. Course format is blended: class meets in-person and online.
