More Women From Hollywood's Golden Age: From Bette Davis to Jeanne Moreau

Six more women stars from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Their beauty and presence filled the screen and defined a certain kind of woman in ways no one else ever had. From the sensual beauties to the funny and sardonic, the beloved and the double crossed, they each deliver one of a kind portraits of who a woman can be, at least on screen. Great actresses don’t just light up the screen, they stay with us forever. A film will be assigned to watch at home, which we will discuss in class, along with watching clips from their other films.  We’ll take an in depth look at their lives, their films and their influence. The actresses include: Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner, Jeanne Moreau and others.
