Movies Made in New York
It’s often said that there are eight million stories in the naked city. This course explores 10 of them (while fully dressed) from a screenwriter’s point of view. Take a look at movies set in New York where the City isn’t just the backdrop but plays a major role in the narrative. From Bed-Stuy to Fifth Avenue, from Staten Island to Queens Boulevard, and up to Pelham Parkway, take a cinematic tour through the five boroughs with movies such as Do the Right Thing, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Working Girl, Coming to America, Marty, Frances Ha, Moonstruck, Dog Day Afternoon, and Rear Window. Film subject to change based on student interest and current events.
