Media, Writing, and Communications Certificate in Multimedia and Podcasting

Diploma Description

The Certificate in Multimedia and Podcasting prepares students to produce, edit, and post compelling human stories using a range of visual and audio digital content that can be applied across professions. You will develop narratives, learn best practices for conducting subject interviews, and acquire skills for how to engage audiences. You will also gain the technical skills to capture and edit digital media and publish to the web and social platforms. You will learn about post-production processes and gain an understanding of the editorial processes and tools used to achieve a finalized product. You will also build practical knowledge about importing recordings into a digital audio workstation (DAW), basic editing, building structural arrangements, and audio mixing.

Students enrolled in the Certificate in Multimedia and Podcasting take five required courses before choosing an advanced workshop elective in their chosen track of either Multimedia or Podcasting.

The Certificate in Multimedia and Podcasting is offered fully online and can be completed in as little as a year and a half. It must be completed within three years of taking the first certificate-eligible course.
