Art and Preservation Certificate in Arts Leadership (Accelerated)
Diploma Description
The Accelerated Certificate in Arts Leadership is ideal for professionals already working in the arts. In addition to fundamental managerial, fundraising, marketing, and financial skills, this innovative semester-long certificate will dive more deeply into advanced leadership and management topics from strategy and planning to human resources and governance. You will also have access to experienced faculty and guest speakers who are industry experts along with opportunities for one-on-one coaching and networking. Whether you are an arts administrator or artist seeking to enhance your current role or attain a new position, this intensive certificate program will help you develop important critical thinking, leadership, and communications skills while expanding your professional networks and learning from the field.
Prerequisites
Students in this accelerated certificate program should have at least one to two years of experience in arts management or nonprofit management, have some familiarity with the arts, and have a basic familiarity with the basic principles of nonprofit management.
Requirements: Applicants should submit a resume to sps.pala.ce@nyu.edu demonstrating experience working in the arts.
The certificate is awarded to students who declare candidacy and successfully complete the one required course listed below with a grade of B or higher.
