BS, Leadership and Management Studies

Jordan Houghton is a multi talented actress, singer, and dancer, who wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a performing artist in NYC—the cultural capital of the world. She decided to earn a BS in Leadership and Management at the NYU School of Professional Studies to provide a sense of security and the business acumen required should she choose to opt for a different career path. Transferring from the theater department of a prominent performing arts conservatory, Jordan was able to use the credits she earned to pursue her four-year degree. She completed many courses online, providing the flexibility for her to continue auditioning and developing her talents. Through it all, her academic advisers partnered with her, giving her the guidance and the support she needed to succeed. Today, she is working at Appboy—a leading lifecycle engagement platform for marketing, growth, and engagement teams—while volunteering her time and talents at the Henry Street Settlement and at Achilles International.
