The NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Programs in Business Hosts the 15th Annual Tax Controversy Forum on June 8 and 9

This Year’s Forum at the Westin New York at Times Square will Feature In-Person IRS Problem-Solving Sessions

NEW YORK, May 22, 2023–The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) Division of Programs in Business’ Finance and Taxation program will host the 15th Annual Tax Controversy Forum in person at the Westin New York at Times Square on Thursday, June 8, and Friday, June 9. In coordination with myLawCLE, NYU SPS will also provide attendees with the opportunity to attend the conference virtually.

Co-chaired by Caroline D. Ciraolo, Esq. and Bryan C. Skarlatos, Esq., both partners at Kostelanetz LLP, the Tax Controversy Forum brings together government representatives and expert private practitioners to compare perspectives on a variety of topics involving tax audits, appeals, and litigation.

This year, representatives from the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) will be on hand to help practitioners resolve current tax problems. If a tax practitioner’s client’s problems meet the TAS’s criteria, a case advocate will be assigned to work with the tax practitioner to resolve the client’s issue. To take advantage of the problem-solving sessions, participants must bring a fully executed IRS Form 2848, Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative.
