NYU School of Professional Studies Joins the Ranks of Select Institutions Accredited by PMI’s Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs

New York, NY and Newtown Square, Pa., January 28, 2020 —The MS in Project Management degree program at the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) was accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC) effective January 1, 2020.

Degree programs that achieve GAC accreditation must demonstrate and meet the GAC’s rigorous global standards of accreditation, which include an assessment of each program’s objectives and outcomes, faculty and student evaluations, onsite and online resources, annual self-evaluation, and proof of continuous improvements in the area of project management education. Over 130 project management degree programs in 20 countries are accredited by GAC. Programs at more than 10 other universities are in the process of accreditation. GAC accreditation ensures the quality of academic degree programs and their graduates in order to meet the standards of the rapidly growing field of project management.

The mission of the MS in Project Management is to provide a rigorous learning experience and a comprehensive foundation in the principles of project management. The curriculum of this 36-credit program of study, which can be completed onsite in New York City or online from anywhere in the world, is designed to help students obtain technical skills and knowledge, become leaders in project management, and develop strategic and business management expertise. Throughout the program, students incorporate core concepts, tools, and techniques of the project management profession and their practical application. Students from around the world enroll in the program and bring their diverse perspectives to the learning experience. Whether they study online or onsite, all students in the program benefit from top-notch career services provided by the NYUSPS Wasserman Center for Career Development that prepare them for a wide range of employment opportunities.

Students also benefit from access to resources, an alumni network, and intellectual stimulation of NYU, one of the nation’s most prominent and well-respected universities.

“We are thrilled that the MS in Project Management has received accreditation from the PMI Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs. This accreditation confirms the level of academic excellence the program affords our students around the world, and provides them with a broad range of valuable benefits,” noted Dr. Negar Farakish, the executive director of academic affairs for the NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Programs in Business.
