NYU School of Professional Studies to Host 2018 PRSA Tri-State Conference “Automation & Media Relations: Technology to Evolve the PR World”

Sean Greenwood, Head of PR for Ben & Jerry’s, is the Keynote Speaker at the Oct. 17 Event, Which Will Feature Top Industry Experts Who Will Provide Insights on Emerging Issues and Opportunities in PR

NEW YORK, October 9, 2018 – A leading developer of applied knowledge and a provider of education in the public relations industry, the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Division of Programs in Business (DPB) will host the 2018 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Tri-State Conference, “Automation & Media Relations: Technology to Evolve the PR World,” on Wednesday, October 17, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life, 60 Washington Square South, NY, NY.

The annual, one-day conference convenes PR professionals from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut who will discuss key trends and issues in this evolving industry. Timely topics for this year’s event will include communications in the age of data analytics and advanced technology, the evolution of the news cycle into digital formats, tomorrow’s PR agencies, new media disruptors, and maintaining credibility in the era of Fake News, among others.

Renowned for its MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication, NYUSPS DPB provides students with the academic learning and practical skills necessary to become effective public relations practitioners. “As leading educators in the PR space, we are deeply aware of the changes occurring in this industry. We are delighted to join with one of the nation’s leading professional organizations, PRSA, in hosting this conference, which will focus on the challenges and opportunities of public relations in the digital age,” said Martin Ihrig, associate dean of the NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Programs in Business.

“Once again, the PRSA Tri-State Conference is bringing together the top thinkers in the communications industry,” said Natan Edelsburg the immediate past chair of PRSA Tri-State and COO of Muck Rack. “Executives from Ben & Jerry’s, Edelman, Muck Rack, CBS News, Goldman Sachs, and Pfizer will descend upon the NYU Kimmel Center to educate on disruptive technologies changing the industry.”  

The Conference will kick off with a keynote by Sean Greenwood, head of PR for Ben & Jerry’s. Greenwood will lead this interactive session using Ben & Jerry’s as a case study. He will share examples involving numerous aspects of the company—from internal communications, to public relations campaigns including work on equity and equality, to social media and other consumer interaction.
