NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Programs in Business to Offer New MS in Human Capital Analytics and Technology

Program Created to Prepare People Management Professionals to Lead in the Workplace of the Future

NEW YORK, NY, January 10, 2019 – Human capital management is rapidly becoming a critical business function that applies technology, analytics, and human-centered design to transform the workplace experience. People management professionals deliver organizational impact (financial results, brand image, sustainable practices, etc.) through sophisticated and measurable workforce planning and management solutions.

To meet the growing needs of organizations that require evidence-based workforce management and skills optimization, the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Division of Programs in Business (DPB) is introducing the NEW MS in Human Capital Analytics and Technology (HCAT). The inaugural cohort of the program will begin studies in September 2019, and applications are currently being accepted.

The 30-credit degree is designed to prepare well-rounded business and analytics professionals with deep expertise in people and organization management. A comprehensive, well balanced seven-course core curriculum delivers the most current skills in data analysis and automation along with the foundations of behavioral and organization sciences, applied research, and essential management skills. Six electives, including an internship option and a required experiential learning capstone, allow for the study and the application of a broad range of applied topics including intelligent automation, the digital workplace, and storytelling with data, as well as current and future trends in human capital analytics and technology.

The program is offered online, with two short residencies in NYC at the beginning and end of the course of study, making it ideal for busy working professionals. Flexible schedules allow students to complete the degree within one year of full-time study or within one-and-a-half to three years of part-time study.

“This program is truly cutting edge, and offers professionals interested in human capital management the tools to harness the power of data to build better businesses and to develop and utilize talent in new and innovative ways,” asserted Martin Ihrig, associate dean of the NYUSPS Division of Programs in Business. “We have designed it to reflect the needs of industry now and in the years to come.”
