MASTER'S DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

The Office of Admissions carefully weighs each component of your application during the admissions review process. The following criteria will help you to better understand this process and the types of information you are required to submit.

We require transcripts from all institutions where college credit was received.

Personal Statement

Tell us about your academic and professional goals and why NYUSPS is the right fit for you.

Recommendations

We require two recommendations submitted from academic or professional sources.

$150 Application Fee

Paid via credit card prior to submitting the online application.

Résumé

Indicate what experiences you’ve had so far, and we will help you go further. Relevant experience in the field, transferable skills, and/or the demonstration of potential success will serve to distinguish you as a prospective student.

Degree Requirement

Earning a US bachelor’s degree or equivalent prior to the start of your intended term of entry.

Degree-Specific Requirements

MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communications

Public relations essay in place of the personal statement.

MS in Professional Writing

Writing portfolio in addition to the rest of the application requirements listed above

MS in Translation

Translation entrance exam in addition to the rest of the application requirements listed above

Requirements for International Students

TOEFL/IELTS

Applicants who did not complete an undergraduate or graduate degree in an institution where the medium of instruction is English are required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Pearson VEPT

Online English language proficiency exam. Applicants who do not meet the minimum recommended scores outlined for TOEFL/IELTS are required to participate in the VEPT exam.

International Transcript Evaluation

Applicants are required to submit a course-by-course evaluation of all transcripts, which compare and translate courses and grades to US equivalency.

REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS

Individuals interested in taking graduate-level courses without committing to a full program of study may apply to become a non-degree seeking student. The following criteria will help you to better understand the admissions process and the types of information you are required to submit.
