Those who complete this degree receive a graduate credential of the highest order. PMI GAC accreditation is a testament to the academic quality and excellence of the NYU SPS MS in Project Management, which meets global accreditation standards and prepares students to enter the workforce.
What are the benefits to students?
Being accredited offers numerous benefits for MS Project Management students, including exclusive academic resources, increased competitiveness in the job market, and experience credits toward PMI certification.
MS in Project Management program students who meet the 24-month experience requirement and have completed the Principles of Project Management Course (MSPM1-GC1000) are eligible to sit for the CAPM or PMP exam. They can be confident that these hours are pre-approved and will automatically be accepted to fulfill the contact hour requirement. Students wishing to claim contact hours should select “GAC Accredited Programs” as the education provider when completing the PMI credential application.
Reducing the PMP experience requirement (from 36 to 24 months) makes it easier for students to take the exam while in the program. A PMP combined with our MS in Project Management degree will help students stand out in today’s competitive job market.
Once a student holds a PMI-issued certification, courses taken in the MS in Project Management program can be used for the continuing certification requirements. Students should claim these PDUs under “Category A – Courses Offered by PMI’s R.E.P.s, GAC Accredited Degree Programs, Chapters, and Communities.”
MS in Project Management students may apply for student scholarships, which are available through the Project Management Institute.
