Justine Gubar currently works for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences as the Executive Director of the Sports Emmy Awards. 

Previously, she has worked as a creative executive for cable television in both sports and news. For more than two decades, Justine worked for ESPN.  In 2016, Gubar left ESPN to join Fusion, the English-language cable network owned by Univision. She served as the Vice President of News Narratives and Executive Producer for the investigative documentary series “The Naked Truth.” Along the way, she picked up 4 Emmy Awards and a variety of other journalism awards including an RFK Award, a NAMIC award, and a WICT signature Accolade Award.

In 2015, Justine authored the book “Fanaticus: Mischief and Madness in the Modern Sports Fan” which was published by Rowman and Littlefield. In 2006, she was awarded a John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship and spent the academic year at Stanford University. She has guest lectured at The New School, the University of California, Berkeley and The Poynter Institute.
