Dr. Michael Wynne started teaching at NYU in 2016 and has taught: (i) Finance for Marketing Decisions; (ii) Statistical Measurements, Analysis and Research; (iii) Advanced Test, Analysis, and Experimental Design; and (iv) Database Management & Modeling. He has also taught at Fairfield University, Sacred Heart University, Mercy College, and Albertus Magnus College. 

Dr. Michael Wynne has more than 30 years of investment banking experience as well as five years of engineering experience at General Electric Company. He has expertise in project finance, infrastructure investment, private equity, M&A and private placements, with skills in business development; joint ventures; structuring and negotiating transactions; risk evaluation and credit; financial modeling and valuation; and documentation and syndication. He has advised clients regarding the structuring and execution of global innovative debt and equity financings in several infrastructure sectors, including power, renewable energy, biofuels, pipelines, toll roads, satellite communications, submarine fiber optic cables, ports and airports. As lead arranger and advisor, Dr. Wynne has raised global capital in excess of $15 billion, closing several "Deals of the Year."

As Senior Advisor to the US Department of Energy's (“DOE”) Loan Guarantee Program Office, and Senior Advisor to the Office of Energy Initiatives (“OEI”) of the U.S. Army, Dr. Wynne provided project finance expertise to solar and wind energy generation projects, biofuel plants, photovoltaic manufacturing transactions and other innovative energy projects. Dr. Wynne has also served as Senior Advisor to the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (“OPIC”) for a municipal LED lighting project fund in Mexico.

As Senior Vice President at GE Capital, Dr. Wynne was responsible for the development of a joint venture with an India-based construction company to create a private equity fund focused on infrastructure investments in India. As Managing Director of Global Project Finance and Head of Telecommunications Structured Finance in the Americas at WestLB, Dr. Wynne managed a very successful deal origination and execution team. As Director, Project and Corporate Finance, at Barclays Capital, he originated, structured, negotiated and closed several major international transactions.

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering: Cornell University: Awarded National Science Foundation Fellowship: Thesis: “Experimental Study of a Natural Draft Cooling Tower with Emphasis on Cold Inflow at Exit”

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction: Cornell University

Dr. Wynne advises doctoral candidates regarding their dissertations at the International School of Management. He is a registered Professional Engineer and previously held Series 7, 79 and 63 FINRA Securities Licenses. 

Dr. Wynne lives in Fairfield, CT with his wife of more than 40 years. He has two children and three grandchildren.
