As Vice President, Affiliates & League Initiatives at the National Basketball Association, Scott Stanchak is responsible for the business operations across 100+ digital products related to the NBA affiliate leagues (Basketball Africa League, NBA 2K League, NBA G League, WNBA), programs (Junior NBA, Junior World Championships, NBA Cares), and special projects.

Previously, Stanchak served as Vice President, Emerging Technology. He led a team focused on building consumer products and experiences in innovative digital technology spaces, including artificial intelligence (chatbots/voice) and augmented, mixed and virtual reality.  Stanchak was also responsible for digital products related to fantasy and gaming, NBA All-Star voting, and organic audience growth, as well as developing live game features to enhance the way fans consume the NBA.

In 2020, Stanchak was honored as one of the 2020 Leaders in Sports "40 Under 40." He also picked up his first Sports Emmy award in 2021 for innovation during the NBA's "bubble" season.

Prior to rejoining the NBA in May 2017, Stanchak spent more than three years at The New York Times, most recently as Managing Director, Platform Operations. There, he led The Times' entrance into the mobile subscription business, oversaw marketing for all "beta" products, and directed innovation – including content, product and monetization – across all third-party content distribution platforms, including Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google.

In addition to his work at the NBA, Stanchak teaches digital and e-commerce marketing within the graduate program at New York University. He's also spoken at numerous conferences and events, having presented in front of audiences at CES, Fast Company's Innovation Festival, Google, and SXSW, as well as lecturing at Columbia University, Cornell University, and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Stanchak’s experience developing and executing digital strategy extends more than 15 years, including with brands such as Avis Budget Group, AT&T, and a previous stint at the NBA.

Stanchak holds a bachelor's degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey. He resides in Wayne, N.J. with his wife, Jessica, their two children, Evan and Ava, and two dogs, Rowan and Kobe.
