Sarah A. Swammy is a Managing Director of BBVA Securities Inc. (BSI) responsible for leading and further developing its broker dealer infrastructure and strategically expanding its institutional business platform offerings. 


With over 20 years of capital markets and risk experience, Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial services including Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Controls, Governance, Sales & Trading, and Finance. Prior to joining BBVA CIB, Sarah served in chief operating officer and senior business oversight roles in global risk and markets analytics, risk management and controls, and capital markets at major international financial institutions, including Bank of America, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Wells Fargo, State Street, BNY Mellon and Deutsche Bank. 


Sarah is the executive editor and contributing author of The Capital Markets: evolution of the financial ecosystem and author of Governance Compliance and Supervision of the Capital Markets and Crypto Uncovered: The Evolution of Bitcoin and the Crypto Currency Marketplace.


Additionally, she was an instructor and led curriculum development for a Strategic Leadership, Managing a Remote Workforce course at Pace University , designed curriculum and test development for a business course for Wiley Publishing and is a book proposal reviewer for Palgrave McMillian professional books Sarah holds a BS in Business Administration, MS in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations from New York Institute of Technology, MA in Business Education from New York University, Ph.D. in Information Studies: access, systems and services from C.W. Post and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and Women on Boards Program. Sarah is a Certified Information Security manager (CISM) and Certified Crypto Currency Investigator. She holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 99 licenses and
is a FINRA Arbitrator. She sits on the Board of PayRX and is a Advisory Board Member for NYIT School of Management & Center for Risk Management.
